This is the seventh annual conference on Materials and Emerging Technologies under research and development in Louisiana.
The conference brings together participants from universities, industry and government agencies in Louisiana and the nation for 1) improved communication and networking among the participants, and 2) to encourage and enhance opportunities for collaborative research and development efforts and initiatives that benefit Louisiana and the nation.
Abstract Submission: Two-page extended abstracts giving research results are solicited in the areas of materials and emerging technologies, including novel materials, processes, devices and systems related to micro- and nanotechnology, bio- and biomedical technologies, information technology, and applications of these technologies. The submitted abstracts, unless selected for oral presentation, will be considered for poster presentation. Authors of the poster presentations will be asked to provide a brief two-minute overview of their results in an organized session, prior to the poster reviewing by the conference participants. Several student poster paper awards will be given. The conference will also include invited presentations by distinguished speakers. From among the submitted extended abstracts from upcoming and new researchers who have been affiliated with Louisiana institutions for five years or less, a few abstracts will be selected to deliver invited oral presentations. The conference will start with a plenary session, in the morning of October 23, 2006 and end in the afternoon on October 24.
