Conference Proceedings

The SRI2007 Conference Proceedings will be published as a special issue of Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A (NIMA). Each conference presentation, oral or poster, is expected to be presented also in the Conference Proceedings. Manuscripts that are essentially no more than the abstract of the presentation will not be accepted for publication. For copyright reasons, manuscripts cannot be accepted if they have been published elsewhere or are expected to be published elsewhere. Papers are limited to three journal pages for each conference presentation; exception is a five journal page limit for invited speakers. A soft-cover copy of the printed proceedings will be mailed to each conference registrant, who has paid the registration fee, in late 2007.

For a presentation to be considered for publication at least one author must be a registered conference participant.

Submission Guide

  • The authors must submit two hardcopies of their manuscripts to the registration desk on the first day of the conference, April 25th, 2007. The manuscript should be a single column format with the figures and tables appended at the end of the manuscript. No manuscript will be accepted after the conference concludes.
  • All manuscripts will be reviewed according to the standards of the NIMA journal. Primary authors will receive referee’s comments by e-mail in May. Authors are requested to make indicated corrections.
  • The final version of manuscript in electronic forms will have to be submitted to CAMD(detailed submission guide will be provided by e-mail). The following three different types of files should be submitted by the authors.
    • one PDF file of the manuscript with the tables and figures appended to the end of the text
    • one manuscript(in Word, WordPerfect or LaTex format)
    • tables and figures(in .eps, .tiff, .pdf, .jpg, or .gif format)
Manuscript Preparation

The length of the paper is three-printed pages for all presentations (except five pages for the invited speakers). The manuscript should be submitted in single column double-spaced format with the figures and tables appended at the end of the manuscript. The manuscript margins should not be justified.

Detailed guidelines about manuscript preparation are provided at the Publisher’s website (elsevier.com). The format, font and layout are the same for the proceedings as the regular issue of the journal. The illustrations and tables should be prepared following the Publisher’s guidelines. One to four classification codes (PACS 2003) and up to six key words of author’s choice should be listed. Please note that no online utility (template) is available at the Publisher’s site for the present proceedings.

Examples of NIMA articles can be obtained here for your reference. Please note that the page-length is quite limited and authors are asked to calculate manuscript length very carefully. Typically,
  • a three-page manuscript will have 1400 words;
  • a five-page manuscript will have 2500 words;
  • each single-column figure or table, about one and a half inches in height, will reduce the word count by 150 words.
Color illustration is acceptable with additional expense charged to the author at the rate of approximately $800 or less per page. Exact color-page charge will be known when entire Proceedings manuscript is complete.

The first author will receive a PDF copy by e-mail, or alternatively free paper reprints. Additional reprints can be ordered in accordance with the standard prices of the Publisher.
